How to Setup a MySQL Database Print

  • 101

MySQL is an alternative storage method that some plugins and mods support, allowing you to set up that plugin/mod to save its files to this separate storage. This can help to reduce storage usage as Dynmap files tend to be quite large.

Accessing the Database Page

1. Go on your server's control panel.

2. On your control panel, on the left side, click Databases.

Creating a MySQL Database

Navigate to the Databases page.

If you do not already have a MySQL database, input a description you wish to describe that database, then select a location from the dropdown list. Finally, click Create Database to create the database.

*You can only create up to one MySQL database. If a database already exists, you will see your MySQL information.

*This is NOT the name of the database and is simply a description of the use of the database. You will find the name of your database once it’s created.

When created, you will able able to view more information.

Accessing Your MySQL Database

Navigate to your database page.

If you have a database, you will see your database credentials as well as database information displayed in a table containing the MySQL Host, and the database name.

If you do not have one, please create one with the above instructions.

You can access all the data you need for your plugin here.

If requested, the “port” of the database host will always be 3306.

Be sure to keep your password secure! If you ever need to change it, click the “Change Password” button. Please note you will need to change all plugin configurations.
