How to Create a Steam Workshop Collection Print

  • 36

Steam Workshop Collections are used to implement addons/mods into your server running a Source game such as Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod, CS:GO, etc.

You may create a workshop collection either through your Steam client or Steam's website. This guide will walk you through how to do so from your Steam client.

  1. Select Community then Workshop to enter the workshop area.

  2. In the search bar, enter the name of the game that you'll be creating a collection for.
To access the Steam Workshop for Counter-Strike games you must go to your game "Library", select that game, and then click "Browse the Workshop".

  3. Once you have selected your desired game, choose Browse, and then Collections.

  4. On the right-hand side of the site, click Create Collection.

  5. When asked for your collection's categories, choose ServerContent.
Certain Source games do not have this category. If a game does not, select the categories fitting to the collection you're creating.

  6. When finished, choose Save and Continue.

  7. You may now select items to include in your collection. Steam allows you to choose from items you have published, items you have favorited, and items that you have subscribed to.

  8. Once you have added all of the content desired, Publish your workshop collection.

  9. Ensure the workshop is listed as Public on the Visibility option.

Now, to retrieve your workshop collection ID, visit your collection on Steam and note the URL you are brought to.

Here is an example of a workshop collection's URL (this link is purely an example and does not navigate anywhere):

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=123456789

Your workshop collection ID will be the value for ID. In this case, the collection ID is 123456789.

Now that you have the collection ID, you can add it to your server by following this guide.
