How to OP Yourself on Your Minecraft: Java Edition Server Print

  • 2726

Minecraft OP (Operator) status gives a player full access to all commands and permissions on a Minecraft server. By default, there are no Minecraft server operators on your server.

To "OP" yourself or others on a Minecraft: Java Edition Server:

1. Log in to your server's control panel and select your Minecraft server.

2. On the left-hand side of your control panel click "Console".

3. In your console, type "op <username>".
Replace <username> with the Minecraft username of the player you wish to OP.
As an example, we would type "op MCProHosting", without quotation marks.

When entering in commands to your server's console, do not include a / before the command. By default, the console will already add an invisible / before the command.

4. Press the "Enter" key on your keyboard to enter that command.

You will receive a response similar to "[Server] INFO CONSOLE: Opped MCProHosting"

You have now successfully "opped" that user.
